Matthew (he/him, she/her) will discuss his research project “A New Burst Of Bloom”, based on her work with improvisation ensembles for 20 years. “Bloom” is an interdisciplinary work that can be used to construct a single piece, or a full performance, by loosely structuring groupings of ensemble members into trios, quartets, and so on. The resulting score(s) can be added to or modified in real-time by ensemble members. Matthew will present on the current state of the project, and discuss where she expects it to lead in the future.
